Morrow, GA--- The Clayton State Men's Basketball team hosted the University of North Georgia inside The Loch on Saturday night. The Nighthawks controlled the game which resulted in a loss for the Lakers 87-70
At the start of the first half, the Nighthawks came out on a 5-0 run but a layup in the paint by Joe Thomas ended the run and gave the Lakers their first points of the game. The Lakers responded to the Nighthawks 3 pointer with a 3 pointer of their own and a good jumper by
DJ Wright. The Lakers were able to get some shots to fall but ultimately it was the aggressive play in the paint by the Nighthawks that saw them with a 41-23 lead going into the half.

The 15 point lead for the Nighthawks going into the second half did not stop the Lakers from competing. Wright came out in the second half with a 3 pointer assisted by
Andre Young. The Lakers followed that 3 pointer with a good dunk by
Jojo Bell. The Lakers were able to find success in the paint as the second half continued getting good layups and jumpers to fall. Ultimately, it was the Nighthawks that capitalized off the missed shots that the Lakers had with made baskets of their own which resulted in a comfortable lead that led to a loss for the Lakers with a final score of 87-70.
