Americus, GA--- The Clayton State University men's basketball team traveled to play Georgia Southwestern on Wednesday evening. The Lakers fell to the Hurricanes 88-66.
From the tipoff the game was very competitive. Both teams were able to have success scoring points from all areas of the floor. The Hurricanes saw the first points of the game go in wth a 3 pointer but the Lakers were able to respond with a 3 pointer of their own by
DJ Wright. With the score the score 7-3, the Lakers saw scoring from
Eddie Page, JoJo Bell, and Wright to bring the Lakers up by 2 going into the media timeout. As the half went on, the Hurricanes started to see their lead get up to as much as 11 but that did not stop the Lakers from competing as they closed the Hurricanes lead to just 5 going into the half.

Page got the scoring going for the Lakers with a tip in layup that brought the lead for the Hurricanes back to 5.
Andre Young saw back to back 3 pointers go in which cut the lead to just 3. Following the 3 pointer, the Hurricanes went on a 16-0 run which gave them a comfortable 19 point lead. The Lakers never stopped as they continued to compete but ultimately it was the Hurricanes that held onto their lead which resulted in a loss for the Lakers.
Final Score: Georgia Southwestern 88, Clayton State 66
