Men's Basketball Suffers Road Loss to Young Harris College 79-71

Young Harris, GA--- The Clayton State University Men's basketball team traveled to Young Harris, GA to take on Young Harris College Saturday evening. The Lakers fell to the Mountain Lions 79-71.

Both teams came out at the start of the first half seeing shots fall. Following a defensive rebound by Tahai Morgan, DJ Wright scored the first points for the Lakers with a nice jumper. Following the jumper, Andre Young saw back-to-back 3 point shots go in for the Lakers. The Lakers took a 10-6 lead going into the games first timeout. As the first half continued, the Lakers continued to see shots fall from all areas of the court. The Lakers took advantage of the missed shots that the Mountain Lions had by going down the court making jumpers, 3 point shots, and fastbreak layups. The first half was very competitive with the game seeing a tied score at the half 34-34.

Halftime: Clayton State 34, Young Harris 34

Coming out in the second half, the Lakers saw success coming from the behind the 3 point line. Wright saw back to back 3 point shots go in along with Jojo Bell seeing a 3 pointer go in as well. As the second half continued, the Mountain Lions took advantage of the missed shots by the Lakers which saw a 10 point lead by the Mountain Lions. The Lakers never stopped competing as they continued to play tough down the stretch but ultimately it was the Mountain Lions that was able to hold onto their lead which resulted in a loss for the Lakers 79-71.
