Fairfield, AL--- The Clayton State Men's Basketball Team suffered a road loss to Miles College on Tuesday evening 84-71.
The Lakers were able to win the tip off and responded to the Bears first points of the game with a jumper from Joe Thomas who gave the Lakers their first points of the game. The Lakers struggled to get the shots falling resulting in the Bears going on a 9-0 run leading to the first time out. Coming out of the timeout,
DJ Wright was able to get a basket to fall ending the Bears run. The Lakers played tough grabbing rebounds and getting shots to fall in but as the half concluded it was the Bears with the comfortable 45-29 lead.
Halftime: Miles 45, Clayton State 29
Coming out in the second half, both teams was able to trade baskets. JOJO Bell got the first points in the second half for the Lakers with a good layup in the paint.
Andre Young followed with six straight points along with a rebound. As the second half went on, the Lakers were able to cut the lead to 10 with three minutes left to go in the game. Ultimately it was the Bears that held onto the lead and came away with the win.
Final Score: Miles 84, Clayton State 71
