MORROW, Ga.—The Clayton State University Division of Student Affairs is thrilled to announce the launch of its Club Sports Program, scheduled to begin the in Fall of 2024. Among the exciting additions to the program will be women's volleyball, women's tennis, and men's football. This expansion is part of our ongoing commitment to providing diverse engagement opportunities and enhancing the student experience on campus.

Don Stansberry, Vice President for Student Affairs at Clayton State University, expressed his enthusiasm for the new initiative, stating, "We are delighted to introduce the Club Sports Program to our campus community. This program will offer students the chance to engage in competitive sports, build teamwork skills, and foster a sense of camaraderie outside of the traditional varsity athletics."

The Club Football team will be led by head coach Kevin Adkins.  Coach Adkins has high hopes of winning the South Atlantic Conference and being in contention for the NCFA National Championship.  Before he arrived at Clayton State, Adkins was the head coach at Gordon State where he compiled a record of 29-6 and won the 2022 NCFA National Championship and two consecutive South Atlantic Conference titles.  In the 2021 season, coach Adkins was named the NCFA Coach of the Year.  In 2023, Adkins was on his way to a third straight South Atlantic Championship, but eventually lost to Central Georgia Tech.  In the 2022, He led Gordon State to a 12-1 record and outscored its opponents, 407-99, including pitching three shutouts.  This season ended with being crowned the National Champions.

More detailed information about the Club Sports Program, including registration procedures, practice schedules, and tryout dates, will be made available shortly. Interested students are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on our website and social media channels.
