Cross Country Concludes Season at the NCAA DII Southeast Regionals

The Lakers saw impressive results in a stacked field

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Clayton State University cross country teams concluded its 2024 season at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regionals.  The Lakers turned out an impressive showing in a loaded field that included reigning DII national champions Wingate among others. 
 
MEN'S SIDE
The Lakers were led by their junior captain Camron Gaddis.  Gaddis finished in 66th place with a time of 33:17.5, which is the 11th fastest time in school history.  Following Gaddis is Rakiem Barnes, who finished in 91st with a time of 33:58.4.  Emanuel Dixon and Mykell Strickland followed behind with times of 34:12 and 35:07.8, respectively.  Rounding out the top five is Brandon Nolen who finished with a time of 35:39.7. 
 
James Morrow also raced for the Lakers finishing with a time of 35:50.9.  As a team, Clayton State finished in 19th out of 29 teams.  Wingate won the meet with 15 points followed by Augusta and Anderson with 74 and 102 points, respectively.

WOMEN'S SIDE
The Lakers saw a pair of runners compete in the meet including Story Alexander and Marley Tate.  Alexander finished in 92nd place with a time of 24:57.4 while Tate clocked a time of 25:45.3 and finished in 104th.  Wingate won the meet with a score of 33 while Flagler and Catawba trailed close behind with 78 and 86 points, respectively.
