MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team fell in its final game of the PBC/SAC Challenge to Lenoir-Rhyne University, 89-66, inside the Loch on Saturday afternoon.
The Lakers found themselves down early in the first half 11-4.
DJ Wright and
Aaron Pitts scored the field goals for Clayton State. After
Matt Brown buried a three to make the score, 11-7, the Bears went on a 10-0 run and led, 21-7. At the score, 29-12, Wright,
Elijah Dates, and
Eddie Page all scored points and made the score, 31-19. After L-R went on a 7-0 run, a layup by
Christian Chambers sparked a 21-11 run to end the half but the Bears took a 50-39 lead going into the half. Lenoir-Rhyne shot a blistering 70% from the field in the half.
Jojo Bell scored the final five points for the Lakers.

Lay Davis and Bell combined for the second half's first four points and the Lakers closed the L-R lead to seven at 50-43. The Bears then jumped back out to a 13-point lead after a 6-0 run making the score 56-43. Lenoir-Rhyne kept distancing themselves from Clayton State and they led by as much as 23 halfway through the half. During that stretch,
Tahai Morgan and
Yannis Woods provided good production from off the bench.
The Lakers were not able to climb out of their big deficit as they dropped the final game of the PBC/SAC Challenge, 89-66. Davis, Morgan, and
Dashaun Joseph all tossed in points down the stretch for the Lakers.

th at 3:30 p.m. to conclude the Tournament.
