Kyla Greene Scores 16 Points in Home Loss Against Valdosta State

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's basketball team hosted Valdosta State University inside the Loch on Tuesday afternoon.  The Blazers took control of the game from the very beginning and took down the Lakers, 87-60. 
 
The Lakers saw an early three from Kyla Greene in the first quarter and made the score, 3-3.  The Blazers then went on a 16-2 run and pulled out to a 19-5 lead.  Etaria Gibbons tossed in a layup to halt the run.  Hannah Wright scored the only other field goal of the quarter for Clayton State as they trailed, 25-9 after the first 10 minutes.  Wright and Sariya Henry supplied the early offense for the Lakers in the second quarter, but Valdosta State held the lead steady at 34-18. 
 
The Lakers got within 11 points at the halftime break thanks to a three-ball from Kyla Greene.  The Lakers fell behind 43-32 at the half.

The Blazers stymied the Lakers offensively the entire third quarter as they only managed four field goals the entire quarter.  Gibbons tossed in three of those four field goals.  The Blazers only missed three field goals the entire quarter and took a 73-46 lead going into the final quarter of play.  The fourth quarter did not see a lot of scoring as only 28 points were scored.  Dazjanae Greene, Gibbons, Aniya Jones, and Jamirah Mitchell all scored points in the fourth. 
 
The Blazers shot 54% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc and took down the Lakers, 87-60.
