MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team concluded play at the Clayton State Classic on Saturday hosting Miles College. The Golden Bears beat the Lakers, 73-63.
Miles found themselves up early, 8-2. The lone field goal was a
Lay Davis jumper. The After the Lakers cut the Miles' lead to 13-10, the Golden Bears went on a 12-0 run and led 25-10. Davis and
Tahai Morgan hit jumpers to halt the run. Then, at the score, 27-14, Morgan and
Matt Brown hit three-balls and made the score, 30-20.
Lakers struggled to shoot the ball throughout the half only making nine field goals and one free throw. They trailed 39-22 at the end of the first 20 minutes. Miles went on a 9-2 run to finish the half.

Jamall Clyce,
DJ Wright, and
Elijah Dates all scored points in the first three minutes of the half and cut the Miles' lead to 49-30. Trailing by 23 at 54-30, the Lakers started to close the gap and went on a 9-2 run and made the score, 59-39.
Christian Chambers scored seven points during that stretch.
Despite a late push by the Lakers, finishing the game on a 10-2 run, it was too little too late as the Golden Bears defeat Clayton State 73-63. The Lakers made their final eight free throws.
