MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State University women's soccer players
Carrie Consolino and
Julia Hasenecz earned Peach Belt Conference Players of the Week as the league announced their selections on Monday afternoon. The Lakers went 1-0-1 this past week to remain unbeaten on the year.
Consolino has been nothing short of amazing this season. In the 9-1 victory over Shorter, Carrie scored four goals and added three assists, breaking the school record for the most points in a single match in program history with 11. This is also the third match this season that she knocked in three or more goals. Consolino leads the nation with 13 goals, 30 points, and three points a match. A native of South Burlington, Vt., Hasenecz earned the Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season. This week, Clayton State conceded only one goal while facing 19 shots. The Lakers have only conceded one goal in their last five matches.
The Lakers (7-0-3 (2-0-2 PBC)) travel to Columbus to play the No. 3 ranked Columbus State Cougars on Wednesday, October 15
