MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team fell at the Loch to #23 Lander University, 71-60, on Saturday afternoon.

TJ Stargell, and
Jamall Clyce gave the spark for the Laker offense early in the first half. The Lakers pulled out in front, 10-5. Lander then went on 13-1 run, including jacking up three, threes. They led, 18-11. Jumpers by
Keandre Bowles and Stargell halted the Lander run. At the score 22-15, Bearcats, the Lakers went on an 11-2 run and retook the lead at 26-24.
Lander scored the final nine points of the half and took a 33-26 lead going into the halftime break.

Tyler Shirley and Harper II buried jumpers to start the second half as the Lakers cut the lead to three at 38-35. The Lakers hung in there until Lander took over the game. At 43-41, the Bearcats went on a 11-2 run and made the score 54-43. A jumper by Bowles and a three-point play by Stargell then closed the gap to 54-48. Lander then continued to distance themselves away from Clayton State. With 6:47 left, they went on a 9-0 run and made the score, 67-50.
Harper II,
Wes Williams, and Stargell all made baskets in the final two minutes of the game, but Lander won the game, 71-60.
