AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's basketball played at Christenberry Fieldhouse against the Jaguars of Augusta University on Wednesday evening. The Lakers dropped a 60-49 decision to Augusta.
The Lakers struggled offensively from the opening tip as they only mustered 10 points the entire first half.
Jadah Waite,
Nina Blade and
Jasmyn Burts all marked points for the Lakers, and they trailed 28-10 going into the halftime break.

The Lakers saw offensive production from Waite, Blade,
Deborrah Redmon, and
Sariya Henry in the third quarter as they closed the gap to 44-20 going into the final quarter of play. Redmon put in a pair of field goals in the third quarter. A three-pointer by Waite and a layup by Henry opened the scoring for the Lakers in the fourth quarter but Augusta led 46-25. Then,
Tamaria White got involved with the scoring as she dropped in five of the next seven points for the Lakers and made the score, 50-32. The Jaguars then went on a 7-0 run and led 57-32. Burts made a layup to end the run and made the score, 59-36.
Devyne Turner then sparked a 15-1 run to end the game but the Lakers fell shot 60-49.
