Nine Laker Women's Soccer Players Garner PBC Team of Academic Distinction Honors

Ditlevsen earned her third-straight TOAD Selection

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its selections for the Team of Academic Distinction (TOAD) for women's soccer on Wednesday morning.  The Clayton State University women's soccer team saw nine of its players be recognized for this honor. 
 
Head Coach Ross Henderson saw Lois Beer, Trinity Chastain, Ida Ditlevsen, Daniela Gularte, Elisabet Isleifsdottir, Lisa Kelm, Caitlyn Mosley, Amiah Sprunger-Hightower, and Tahlia Stangherlin earn this prestigious honor.  This the third such selection for Ditlevsen and the other eight student-athletes earned their first TOAD selection.
 
A native of Swinton, England, Beer is a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll recipient and was awarded the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District award this season.  Beer played in 16 matches and assisted on two goals against Albany State.  Lois also logged the fourth-most minutes on the team (1285).  A native of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Chastain played in net for the Lakers in seven matches and made 16 saves.  She also pitched a pair of shutouts.  Trinity was placed on the PBC Presidential Honor Roll last season.  A native of Denmark, Ditlevsen capped off her solid career with her third straight PBC TOAD selection.  The Laker senior already was selected as a CSC Academic All-District honoree this season.  Ida played in all 17 matches last season and notched an assist against Georgia College. 
 
A native of Bluffton, S.C., Gularte had a solid season for the Lakers.  She played and started in all 17 matches and assisted on one goal against AUM.  Gularte can add this distinction to a list that includes a PBC Presidential Honor Roll nod last season.  A native of Iceland, Isleifsdottir played in eight matches for the Lakers in 2023.  She also earned the PBC Presidential Honor roll honor last year.  A native of Germany, Kelm played in net for the Lakers in 12 matches and made 41 saves.  Last season also saw Kelm pitch a pair of shutouts.  Kelm can add this honor to a list that includes a CSC Academic All-District and PBC Presidential Honor Roll selection.  Mosley, who is a native of Trussville, Ala., played in eight matches in 2023, while making five starts.  She earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll honors last season. 
 
A native of Westfield, Ind. Sprunger-Hightower can add this PBC TOAD distinction to a list of honors from last season that includes a first-team All-PBC honor and a United Soccer Coaches (USC) Third-Team All-Region.  She was also a Second Team D2CCA All-Region selection.  Amiah played in 16 matches and scored 15 goals, added six assists, and tied a school record for points in a single match with 10 against Albany State.  Rounding out the selections was Tahlia Stangherlin. Stangherlin, who is a native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, played in all 17 matches and notched four goals and added five assists.  Tahlia also earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll honors last season. 
 
To be considered for this honor, the student-athlete must have been at the school for at least one calendar year, boast at least a 3.50 GPA, and compete in at least 50% of competitions. The league office will release the men's soccer selections on Thursday morning at 11 a.m.  Please visit claytonstatesports.com for the most updated releases.
