AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team played the Augusta University Jaguars at Christenberry Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening. The Lakers fell to Augusta, 73-61.
The Lakers saw early offensive production from
Jamall Clyce,
Eddie Page, and
Tyler Shirley in the first half. The score read 11-8, early in the first half.
Travis Harper II then scored the next seven Laker points, but the Jaguars led 17-15. The Jaguars were up 25-19 but a jumper by Clyce and a dunk by
Mohamad Diallo cut the game to 24-23 with 5:30 left in the half. The Jaguars then went on a 11-0 run and led 35-23.
The Lakers ended the half on an 8-2 run but trailed 38-31 going into the halftime break.

Wes Williams and Harper II both hit threes to begin the second half as the Lakers cut the Jaguar lead to 43-37.
Baqi Lecky and Diallo then hit the next eight points for the Lakers as they still were behind, 57-45. A Shirley dunk ignited an 8-2 run and made the score 59-53. Augusta then answered with a 9-2 run and made the score, 68-55.
Augusta used timely runs as the bested the Lakers, 73-61.
