MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's basketball team concluded the PBC/SAC Challenge and lost, 80-60, at the Loch to Anderson University. The SAC won three out of four games on the weekend.
The two teams traded the first 14 points of the game and made the score seven all.
Nina Blade,
Deborrah Redmon, and
Jadah Waite All marked baskets for the Lakers. With under five minutes left, the Lakers eventually took the lead on a three-pointer by
Hannah Wright, making the score 14-13. Anderson then ended the quarter scoring the final nine points and led the Lakers, 22-14, going into the second quarter. Blade and Waite supplied the early offense for the Lakers in the second quarter as they closed the gap to 29-22. After
Tamaria White nailed a jumper and made the score 29-24, the Trojans finished the half on a 10-2 run and took a 39-26 lead going into the halftime break.
Aaliyah Reid made the lone basket for the Lakers.

Devyne Turner and Redmon came out and supplied the early offense for the Lakers at the start of the third quarter. Clayton State still trailed 42-31. At the score 45-34, Anderson went on a 9-3 run and grew its lead to 52-37.
Jasmyn Burts drilled a three for the Lakers during that stretch. The Trojans then ended the quarter scoring seven of the final nine points and led 65-43 going into the final quarter of play.
Jada Alston, Reid, and Waite scored points early in the fourth quarter for the Lakers and made the score 67-48. With 3:16 left, a three-pointer by Wright sparked a 10-0 run and closed the gap to 76-60.
Anderson controlled most of the game and won 80-60.
