MORROW, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) selected Clayton State University women's soccer player Julia Hasenecz as its Defender of the Week.  The announcement came by the conference office on Monday afternoon. 
 
This is the first such honor for Hasenecz this season and in her three-year career as a Laker defender.  Hasenecz and the Clayton State defensive unit did not allow goal in the two matches last week.  They shutout Anderson, 3-0, last Wednesday and won big over Albany State, 10-0, on Saturday.  In the Laker win on Saturday, Julia scored her first goal of the season.  In the two matches, the defensive backline only surrendered 17 shots including only four against Albany State. 
 
The Laker women's soccer team opens the 2023 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer tournament as the sixth seed and they travel to take on the third-seeded Saints of Flagler College on Monday, November 6^th.  The match is slated to kickoff at 5 p.m.  Please visit claytonstatesports.com for more information.
