MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team returned to action and hosted USC Aiken on Wednesday evening Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action. The Lakers pitched their second straight shutout and won the match, 5-0.
The Lakers saw total dominance in the first half as they outshot the Pacers, 20-2. The Lakers got off to a hot start as
Wilfried Kamden,
Alexis Iturria, and
Emmanuel Alerte's shot hit woodwork in 5
th and in the 2
nd minutes. The Lakers tacked on the match's first goal. After Iturria's shot hit woodwork in the 4
th minute,
John Michael Torres got the rebound and cashed in for his third goal of the season. The Lakers jumped out to a 1-0 lead.
Nine different Lakers tallied at least one shot as they led 1-0 after one half of play.

The Lakers came out to play in the second half as it turned into an offensive onslaught. Clayton State saw its second goal of the match scored in the 61
st minute off a rebound. Delgado Miller's shot hit woodwork and it was redirected by Kamden who finished for the goal. The scoring was not done yet as the Lakers added to their lead in the 65
th minute. Off of two one-touch passes from Iturria and
Geo Rios, Delgado Miller got behind the keeper and scored a goal. The Lakers were up, 3-0. The Lakers marked goals in the 69
th minute and 70
th minute and made the score 5-0. Alerte was streaking down the far side for the match's fourth goal and then
Andree Jimenez and Delgado Miller set up Iturria for his 10
th goal of the season.
The Lakers outshot USC Aiken 36-9 and won 5-0.
