MORROW, Ga. – After a pair of double-doubles last week, Clayton State University women's basketball player
Audrey McElhaney was rewarded by the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) as she was awarded the conference's Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The league announced its selection on Monday.
McElhaney had a fantastic week for the Lakers as they earned two key PBC victories. In last Wednesday's game against Young Harris, the Laker forward tied a season-high with 19 points while also grabbing 10 boards. In addition, McElhaney marked six steals, a block, and a pair of assists in the game. In Saturday's road victory against Columbus State, the Tifton, Ga. native added 17 points and grabbed 11 boards.
McElhaney has scored in double-figures in three straight games and leads the team with 11.6 points a game, 6.9 rebounds a game, and with 20 steals. Additionally, she is second on the Lakers with a 56% field goal percentage and 13 blocks.
The Lakers hit back on the road as they play the No. 15 University of North Georgia Nighthawks on Wednesday, January 11
th. Tipoff for the rematch of the 2022 PBC Championship game is set for 5:30 p.m. In addition to the live stream on the PBC Sports Network, the voice of the Lakers Todd Corder will be on the radio call from the GameMic App for all of the action.
