MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team overcame a 16-point deficit in the second half, but the No. 18 Young Harris College Mountain Lions held on to win, 66-63, at the Loch on Wednesday evening.
The Lakers jumped out to an early 6-4 lead after
Christian Chambers buried a three and
Brian Coffey II made a jumper. Later in the half,
Baqi Lecky drained a pair of mid-range jumpers and the Lakers hung on to a slim lead at 18-16 with 12 minutes left. With the score 21-10, the Lakers saw three-pointers by Coffey II and
Xavier Joyner and opened a 28-21 lead.
The Lakers did not score in the final three minutes of the half and Young Harris ended the half on an 8-0 run as they took a 35-30 lead going into the half.

The Mountain Lions started the second half hot as they scored eight of the first 10 points and extended their lead to 43-32. The Mountain Lions controlled the pace of the second half throughout and led by as much as 16. With 8:30 left, the Lakers started their comeback and countered with a 16-0 run and tied the game at 62.
Wes Williams made a pair of threes while Lecky completed a three-point play.
Unfortunately the Lakers could not seal the deal as the Mountain Lions prevailed at end and won the game, 66-63.
