Clayton State Track and Field Programs Named to NCAA DII All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS – Both the men's and women's Clayton State track and field programs were selected to the 2022 NCAA Division II All-Academic Teams announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). More than 100 teams were honored by the USTFCCCA.

"We are extremely excited about our student-athletes' performance on and off the track," said head men's and women's track and field coach Chris Brown.  "Having both programs selected for the All-Academic Teams demonstrates that our student-athletes understand what it means to be a student first and foremost. They continue to make academics a priority while giving their best on and off the track. We take pride in representing Clayton State University and look forward to many more future successes."

The women's track and field team finished 2021-22 with a 3.21 team grade point average. Sixteen student-athletes earned a 3.0 or higher GPA, while nine others reached a 3.5 or higher.

On the men's side, the team finished with an overall GPA of a 3.0. Nine student-athletes earned a 3.0 or higher GPA and two others achieved a 3.5 or higher.

To be selected for the NCAA Division II Track and Field All-Academic Teams, programs must have earned a 3.0 or higher GPA for all student-athletes on the NCAA squad list for indoor and/or outdoor track and field. Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
