INDIANAPOLIS – Clayton State head women's basketball coach Kaleena Coleman recently attended the 2022 NCAA Division II Identity Workshop held at NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis from June 7-9.

Coleman, along with other head coaches in DII, were selected by their respective conference offices to attend the workshop.

"This was an awesome experience," said head women's basketball coach Kaleena Coleman.  "It was very educational and informative.  The information that was provided will assist me in my professional development and life.  I was able to network with many coaches and athletic trainers from all over. The speakers did an amazing job and the NCAA staff showed great hospitality.  I would definitely return or encourage others to attend this event."

The NCAA Division II Identity Workshop was led by members of the NCAA DII governance staff and focused on a wide range of topics that directly impact coaches on Division II campuses.

Coleman was able to learn more about NCAA operations from several departments, including the Sport Science Institute, championships, academic and membership affairs, and governance.  Included in the agenda were opportunities for personal and professional development, including a session with Justin Patton, executive leadership coach, owner of Justin Patton Inspires, and author of "Bold New You" and "Unleashing Potential Confidence".

The workshop also incorporated guest speakers such as Janet Jude, former NCAA student-athlete and current collegiate sports law attorney and partner at Holland & Knight and Ivy Watts, also a former student-athlete and current mental health empowerment speaker and owner of Ivy Watts Speaks.
