CARROLLTON, Ga. – The Clayton State women's track & field team earned one win and closed the UWG Legends Invitational with a seventh-place result Saturday.
 
The Lakers had strong results across several events.
 
Ariyonna Jones delivered the only win for Clayton State, coming in the 400m. Jones beat out 13 other competitors with a time of 58.12. That time ranks second in the conference. Ny'Asia Green took third in the same event with a 1:00.32.
 
Cayla Brown finished the 100m with a 2-of-21 result after running 12.34 and took 3-of-31 in the 200m with a time of 25.34. Maya Adams finished fifth in the 100m.
 
The 4x100m relay team of Maya Adams, Jasmine Benson, Brown and Jones ran 47.59 for a 2-of-8 result.  
 
In the throws, Shania Riles took home a 5-of-20 result in the discus (39.74m) and a 7-of-20 in the hammer (37.54m).
 
The Lakers are back in action on Saturday for the Alice Coachman Invitational hosted by Albany State.
