MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State women's track & field team placed 11th at the Alice Coachman Invitational on Saturday (April 9) as they wrapped the regular season.
Eight individuals competed for the Lakers as this meet was used to get ready for the Peach Belt Conference Championships.
Jasmine Benson and
Paige Searles led Clayton State with four events each. Benson ran the 100m, 4x100m and 4x400m and also took part in the long jump.
Searles joined Benson in the relays and also ran the 200m and 400m.
Kassidy Harper and
Aija Wall also ran in the 4x100m while
Cayla Brown and
Sasha Knowles ran the 4x400m.
Brown, running in the 400m, finished 8-of-21 with a time of 1:01.67. Knowles ran 2:30.14 in the 800m to finish 7-of-26.
Marina Brown also ran the 800m while
Kalkidan Hawkins ran the 1500m.
Clayton State will take the next week off before running in the PBC Championships.
