AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Thursday its selections for its women's basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll and All-Conference.  The Clayton State University women's basketball team was represented on both preseason lists.

The Lakers receive the third spot on the PBC Preseason Coaches' Poll and gathered one first-place vote.  Clayton State just trailed Georgia Southwestern State and North Georgia, who combined for eight first-place votes.  This is the same spot that the Lakers found themselves in the 2021-22 season.

Gathering Preseason All-Conference honors was senior forward Audrey McElhaney.  The Tifton, Ga. native earned second-team All-PBC honors in the 2021-22 season while earning first-team honors in the 2020-21 season.  McElhaney led the Lakers with 14.3 points a game and 7.9 rebounds a game.  In addition, Audrey led the Lakers with 142 field goals made, 385 points, and with 212 total rebounds.  Last season, McElhaney set a new career-high with 18 rebounds against North Georgia on January 12th and recorded seven double-doubles.  McElhaney becomes the first Laker to be picked as a Preseason All-Conference selection since Drameka Griggs in the 2012-13 season.
