MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team concluded play at the Clayton State Classic playing the Lions of Emmanuel College on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers fell to the Lions, 66-57.
The Lions got off to a fast start in the beginning of the first half marking 13 of the first 15 points making the score, 15-2. Bryce Weinmunson broke up that run with a corner three-ball and
Jalen Shaw knocked in a driving layup. The Lions led 15-7. After the Lions made a field goal, Shaw scored the next five points and
Wes Williams added a layup and made the score, 17-14. With the score at 22-14, the Lakers went on a 9-0 run highlighted by a three-pointer by
Travis Harper II, which turned into a four-point play.
Williams scored the final four points for the Lakers in the half as they took a 30-28 lead going into the half. Shaw already posted his second-straight double-double scoring 11 points and grabbed 11 boards.

The Lakers came out of the locker room sluggish and only made one field goal in the first 10 minutes which was a jumper made by Chambers. The Lions pulled out ahead, 43-38. The Lions then scored the next five points of the game and then Chambers and
Ricardo Saams Jr. got the Lakers back into the game and cut the lead to three at 47-44. With five minutes left and with the score at 49-46, the two teams traded buckets as Chambers and Shaw scored the next 13 Laker points and made the score, 60-55 with 1:41 left.
The Lions scored the final eight points of the game and defeated the Lakers, 66-57.
