YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Clayton State men's basketball team hit 17 3-pointers in an 85-69 win over Young Harris College Wednesday night.

The game was the Peach Belt Conference opener for the Lakers. The win stopped a two-game skid against YHC.

Wes Williams opened the game with a pair 3-pointers before Ricardo Lynch added his own pair of threes to put the Lakers up 12-0. They would not surrender the lead for the entire game.

The 17 3-pointers is the most by a Laker team since the 2010-11 season when they accomplished the feat against Knoxville.

Clayton State continued to run up the score, leading 20-3 at the 14:06 mark. The Mountain Lions would then claw back and pull within four with 7:26 left in the first half. The Lakers would fend off the attack and led by seven at halftime.

Four players scored in double figures for the Lakers. Lynch led the team with 21 points and had six rebounds and five assists. He also went 7-of-7 from the free throw line and 4-of-7 from behind the arc.

Williams chipped in with 19 points and knocked down five threes.

The second half was all Clayton State as the Lakers held a double-digit lead for the final 17 minutes after a Ricardo Saams Jr. three. Saams finished the game with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Glenn Robinson II added 11 points and went 3-of-4 from three. Kobie Johnson had six points, five rebounds and six assists in the win.

As a team, the Lakers went to the charity stripe just nine times but hit eight of their shots. They shot 45.5% from the field and 44.7% from three.

Up Next:
- Clayton State hits the road on Saturday for a matchup at Columbus State.
- The Lakers then return to The Loch on Jan. 12 for a meeting with North Georgia.
