MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State women's basketball head coach
Kaleena Coleman '06 has announced the promotion of
Brittany Hall '12 to associate head women's basketball coach.
Hall has served as assistant women's basketball coach since rejoining the Lakers coaching staff in 2014. She is in her ninth season overall after serving as a student-assistant coach for the 2012-13 season. In between her two stints with Clayton State, Hall served as an assistant coach for Chowan for one season.
"I've watched Coach Hall since she was a player, a student-assistant and now my full-time assistant and each year she has been better and better than the year before," Coleman said. "She has elevated herself personally and professionally and deserves this promotion. She is dedicated, commits to the job and always wants to see this program succeed."
Hall joined the coaching staff in 2012 after a stellar playing career for the Lakers. She was a member of the 2010-11 Division II National Championship team and helped Clayton State to an 114-19 record during her four years on the court.
After redshirting her first season, Hall became one of the top all-around players for the program and became one of eight Lakers to join the 1,000 point club. She also tops the record for most made 3-pointers in a career with 162 and is in the top five for career games played (128), 3-pointers attempted (424), 3-point FG percentage (38.2), points scored (1,146), assists (344) and steals (286).
"I am very grateful for this opportunity and this promotion," Hall said. "I believe this will be very beneficial for my professional development and I want to keep doing as much as I can to help this program succeed."
As an assistant coach, the Lakers have put together a 164-69 record that includes five 20-win seasons and seven winning seasons.
Hall has also been instrumental with the community engagement efforts for the women's basketball team. After the 2019-20 season, the Lakers finished second of all women's basketball teams while the Department finished fourth overall in Division II.
She has helped coach a Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, Two PBC Defensive Players of the Year, a PBC Freshman of the Year and 15 All-PBC selections. She has also coached three All-Region honorees.
On February 11, 2022, the Lakers will induct coach Coleman, coach Hall and the rest of the 2010-11 Women's Basketball National Championship team into the Clayton State Athletics Hall of Fame.
For the season, Clayton State sits at 4-2. The Lakers have two more games for the calendar year before they enter conference play in January.
