CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Clayton State men's basketball team had four players score in double figures as they earned a 67-64 win over West Georgia Tuesday night.

Wes Williams scored a season-best 18 points as he went 6-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc to lead the Lakers in the win.

As seen in the past two games, the Lakers scored the game's first points and held the lead throughout the first half. West Ga. stayed in the ballgame as they never let the Lakers lead by more than 10 points.

The Wolves trailed by one point with 2:41 left, but the Lakers closed the half with a 5-0 run to lead 34-28 at halftime.

The second half mirrored the first half as both teams traded buckets. West Ga. took its first lead of the game at the 7:25 mark but quickly lost it as Xavier Womack's free throw put Clayton State ahead.

The lead then changed several times in the final minutes with West Ga. holding a 64-63 lead with 54 seconds left to play.

But Williams hit his final three of the game with 40 seconds left to put the Lakers ahead 66-64. He then picked up a loose ball on the following Wolves' possession and Ricardo Lynch hit 1-of-2 free throws in the final seconds to give the Lakers the win.

Last season, the Wolves advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Jalen Shaw recorded his third double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. He also added four blocks, a season best for the 6-10 center.

Austin Hadden added a season-best 13 points and had four assists and four rebounds while Ricardo Lynch scored 10 points.

As a team, the Lakers shot 52% from the field and 50% from behind the arc.
