Women’s Basketball Runs Away with 73-48 Win Over Anderson

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Clayton State women's basketball team ran away with a 73-48 win over Anderson Saturday afternoon and leaves the Southeast Region Crossover with a pair of wins.
 
Tied 30-30 at halftime, the Lakers used a 29-point third quarter and outscored Anderson 14-8 in the fourth to prevail with the win.
 
Timi'a Swanson had a game-high 20 points in the win and added five rebounds. Audrey McElhaney scored 14 points and had seven boards, two assists and five steals.
 
Anderson led for the entirety of the first quarter and early in the second before the Lakers took their first lead after a Raven Riley jumper at 8:38. Anderson quickly grabbed the lead back and both teams shared time with the lead in the final half of the quarter.
 
The third quarter was all Clayton State as the Lakers hit shot after shot and led by 19 with just 10 minutes left.
 
Clayton State didn't let up and built a 28-point lead with just over four minutes left. The Lakers would up winning by 25.  
 
Raven Riley scored 10 points while Diamond Swift had seven points, seven assists and four rebounds.

- The Lakers stay in state for a battle against Montevallo on Friday. The game will be held in Dahlonega, Ga. and is hosted by North Georgia.
