DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Jadah Waite scored a career-high 22 points as the Clayton State women's basketball team won 70-58 over Montevallo Friday afternoon.
Tied 41-41 with under 10 seconds left in the third quarter, Waite scored with no time remaining to give the Lakers a two-point lead with just 10 minutes left to play.
The Falcons the opened the fourth with a pair of baskets and led 45-43 with 8:10 left, but the Lakers used a 26-13 run to take the win.
Clayton State missed its first four shots to open the final frame, but during its run, went 12-of-13.
The win is the third-straight for Clayton State as all three games have been played at a neutral-site. The Lakers play Delta State on Saturday at noon.
Montevallo led 14-12 after the first quarter and the game was tied 25-25 at halftime.
Taniya Patrick scored 10 and added nine rebounds in the win.
Timi'a Swanson scored 15 points and had four rebounds and five assists.
