MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State Athletics Department continues its feature series that highlights members of its Athletics Hall of Fame. This week's spotlight feature highlights Allison Kreutzer, a member of the second class to be inducted into the Lakers Hall of Fame in 2015.
Kreutzer was a three-sport star and is quite simply one of the most decorated student-athletes in the 30-year history of Clayton State Athletics, earning four All-American honors, multiple Southeast Region Runner of the Year awards, a pair of Peach Belt Conference Championships and a Region Championship among a bevy of program records.
She truly made her mark as a cross country runner, earning back-to-back All-American recognition in 2004 and 2005 and was the 2004 NCAA Division II National Runner-Up. The latter followed being named both the PBC Freshman of the Year and Runner of the Year that same season after winning the first of two PBC individual championships (2004, 2008).
The 2008 campaign would see her win that second individual conference title while claiming Runner of the Year honors. It would also see her win the Southeast Region Championship and be recognized with her fourth straight selection to the All-Peach Belt Conference Team (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008). As a cross country runner, Kreutzer won a team record 16 meets, holds six of the 10 fastest marks on a 6k course and eight of the 10 fastest on an 8k course.
She did not fail to impress when it came to the track & field portion of her career either. A two-time Southeast Region Runner of the Year, Kreutzer also earned a pair of All-American honors during the 2007 season. She accomplished the latter in the 5,000m and 10,000m at the NCAA Division II National Championships.
Much like her cross country career, she also holds numerous program records in both indoor and outdoor track. Kreutzer has four marks in each with her outdoor records coming in the 1,500m, 3,000m, 5,000m and 10,000m while the indoor records are in the Mile, 5,000m, 4x800 and Distance Medley Relay.
