ATLANTA, Ga. – For the second straight weekend, junior
Nia Elmore (Hinesville, Ga.) attacked the Clayton State women's track & field record book as she recorded her 19
th program record on the final day of the Emory Classic on Saturday, March 30. As a team they finished 12-of-26 with 24 points.

Competing in the 100-meters, Elmore achieved yet another program record when she posted a time of 12.12 in the semifinals. That mark was one one-hundredth better than her time in that event last week at the Emory Invitational and sent her to the finals of the 100-meters. In that portion of the event she ran another sterling time of 12.16 to finish 5-of-44. In addition to that performance she would tie for 18
th out of 84 in the 200-meters (26.18).

Senior
Carla Catala Martin (Barcelona, Spain) also delivered an impressive outing for the Lakers as she finished 3-of-35 in the 5,000-meters with a time of 18:50.34 and junior
Jasmine Radford (Lawrenceville, Ga.) came in 6-of-84 in the 200-meters (25.52).

Joining them both in the Top-10 would be freshman
Kiara Green (Ty Ty, Ga.) with a 10-of-49 performance in the discus (35.04) and senior
Ariel Boyd-Ghani (Powder Springs, Ga.) at 10-of-56 in the 800-meters (2:23.35). Green would add a 24-of-48 outing in the shotput with a distance of 10.54-meters and Boyd-Ghani was 34-of-74 in the 1,500-meters (5:14.21).

Destiny Johnson (New Iberia, La.) was 16-of-37 in the triple jump (10.28m) and sophomore
Na'ilah Allen (McDonough, Ga.) was 21-of-56 in the 800-meters at 2:27.51 and 28-of-74 in the 1,500-meters (5:10.15). Senior
Lynnet Kosgei (Eldoret, Kenya) came in 35
th in the latter with a time of 5:15.25 and freshman Asia Love (Riverdale, Ga.) was 26
th in the 800-meters (2:29.64).

Clayton State heads to Huntsville, Alabama next weekend for the Gulf South/Peach Belt Conference Challenge. That meet will run on Saturday, April 6 and be hosted by Alabama-Huntsville.
