NEW ORLEANS, La. – Showcasing their skills in the classroom as well as on the course, both Clayton State cross country programs have been recognized as All-Academic Teams as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) during the week of February 12.
 
It is the eighth straight year that the women's program has been so honored and the seventh time overall for the men's team.
 
"Our cross country teams continue their respective streaks of academic excellence, as recognized by USTFCCCA," said head coach 
Mike Mead. " I am proud of their accomplishments in the classroom!"
As a team, the Lakers women's program posted a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and are among 231 programs that met the minimum 3.0 GPA requirement to earn the honor this season. The men are one of just 196 programs nationwide to earn a spot on this prestigious list with a 3.2 GPA.
