AUGUSTA, Ga. – Continuing an impressive academic tradition, Clayton State men's soccer has landed five individuals on the 2019 Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team as announced by the league on Thursday, November 7.

Qualifying for the Lakers were senior defender
Jordan Knight (Javea, Spain), graduate defender
Tim Neusesser (Bad Berleburg, Germany), senior midfielder
Dusan Stankovic (Belgrade, Serbia), sophomore midfielder
Jack Stevens (Brisbane, Australia) and junior midfielder
Mitro Turunen (Vantaa, Finland).

Knight earned his spot on the team with a 3.86 GPA in Political Science and was joined by Neusesser with a 4.0 in his MBA, Stankovic at 3.91 in Business, Stevens with 3.85 in Mathematics and Turunen at 3.84 in Business Management/Marketing.

For Knight it is the maximum third time he has picked up the honor while Turunen earns his second. Neusesser, Stankovic and Stevens are all first time honorees in their first year of eligibility.

In order to qualify for the Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must have been at their institution for one calendar year, have achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale and competed in at least 50-percent of their sport as a significant contributor.

The GPA is calculated through the previous semester and an individual that is a graduate transfer to an institution other than where they earned their undergraduate degree is immediately eligible.

The Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer Academic All-Conference Team is released near the close of the regular season each year and prior to the conference championship. Clayton State men's soccer has clinched a berth in the 2019 PBC Tournament and will close out the regular season tomorrow, Saturday, November 9 against USC Aiken at 3:30 p.m.
