PEMBROKE, N.C. – Junior
Zach Czerniak (Suwanee, Ga.) led a group of runners that placed Clayton State men's cross country 6-of-11 at the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Championships on Saturday, October 26. As a team they finished with 188 points.
Czerniak posted a time of 27:53.26 to come in 35-of-93 to pace the Lakers while freshman
Javier Castillo (Forest Park, Ga.) was 45
th with a mark of 28:49.36. Junior
Na'im Allen (McDonough, Ga.) was right behind him in 46
th (28:56.20) and was in near lockstep with redshirt-sophomore
Courtland White (Rex, Ga.) who crossed the line at nearly the same time in 48
th (28:56.30).
Augusta claimed the team championship with 29 points, outpacing Flagler (56) and UNC Pembroke (67).
Clayton State will now await word on whether they will compete in the 2019 NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championships on Saturday, November 9.
