MORROW, Ga. – Already an All-Peach Belt Conference performer, junior men's soccer defender
Jordan Knight (Javea, Spain) has proven he is talented on the field in his first three seasons and this past weekend demonstrated his abilities in the political science arena as he was recognized for his performance at the 22
nd Annual South Eastern Model of the African Union (SEMAU).

Held at Savannah State University, the conference is designed to present a general resolution that brings to together the ideas and requirements of other students from a group of southeastern universities as well as Ohio State. This group is charged with attempting to resolve the current issues facing members of the AU.

Knight, as part of a contingent from Clayton State's Political Science Department, personally represented the concerns of Cameroon on the Committee of Social Affairs. Other members of the group represented Uganda's interests and challenges.

Specifically, he focused on the Empowerment of Women and Eliminating All Forms of Violence and Discrimination (Social, Economic, Political) Against Women and Girls and Eliminating Youth Unemployment and Promoting Creativity, Energy, and Innovation of African Youth as the Driving Force Behind the Continent's Transformation.

"It was a great experience to meet and converse with other students from all over the world," said Knight. "It's an opportunity to come together to provide solutions to modern day issues in Africa that have a global effect."

As a result of the emphasis and consistency, as well as their resolution being approved by the Executive Heads of States, Knight was honored with SEMAU's Outstanding Leadership Award at the conclusion of the conference.
