MORROW, Ga. – With just two regular season games remaining, Clayton State (5-5-3, 2-5-1 PBC) faces a huge game at Young Harris (5-6-0, 3-4-0 PBC) on Saturday, October 20 as they battle for a berth in the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
 
The Lakers enter the weekend two points behind YHC and in the No. 8, and final, tournament spot. A pair of wins would propel them to 13 points while the Mountain Lions have a pair of tough road games left at Georgia College (10/24) and UNC Pembroke (10/26).
 
Clayton State also needs to fend off Francis Marion (six points) for the final transfer spot as well. The Patriots have more opportunity for points with three games left as they host No. 4 Columbus State (10/20) before heading to Lander (10/24) and Flagler (10/27).
 
All-time the Lakers lead the series with Young Harris at 4-3-1, dating to the first meeting on October 26, 2010. Clayton State won that meeting 1-0 at Laker Field before the Mountain Lions took their turn with the same score on September 8, 2011 in Young Harris.
 
From then Clayton State was undefeated over their next four games, winning three in a row before a 1-1 tie in the mountains on October 28, 2015. YHC has since claimed a 3-2 decision on October 18, 2016 in Young Harris and 1-0 in the most recent meeting in Morrow exactly one year later.
