MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (2-5, 0-3 PBC) will head to Florence, South Carolina for the first time since 2005 when they take on Francis Marion (3-3, 0-2 PBC) in an NCAA Division II women's soccer game on Saturday, September 30. Game time is set for 3 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
 
It will be the Lakers first trip to Florence in more than a decade as the Patriots competed at the Division I level as an elevated program from 2005-15. All-time, the Lakers hold a 4-8-1 advantage over FMU dating back to the first meeting on October 5, 1996. That 8-0 win was the first of six straight victories through 2001.
 
After the Patriots left for DI following the 2004 season, the teams met twice, deadlocking 1-1 in Florence, S.C. on October 23, 2005 and with Clayton State notching a 5-0 win in Aiken, South Carolina on September 23, 2015. In the latter, Denisha Paskell delivered a program record four assists. In FMU's return to the PBC last year, the Lakers posted a convincing 4-0 victory at Laker Field on October 1.
