MORROW, Ga. – Entering the night in three way tie for the final spot in the 2017 Peach Belt Conference Tournament, Clayton State (5-8, 2-6 PBC) faces North Georgia (10-3-2, 7-2-0 PBC) in a key NCAA Division II women's soccer game on Wednesday, October 25. Game time is set for 5 p.m. at Laker Field and will be preceded by Senior Night festivities.
 
With six points on the season, they are knotted with Francis Marion, whom they have the head-to-head tie-break over, and USC Aiken. The latter holds the advantage by virtue of a 2-1 win this past weekend.

The Lakers are 8-8-2 all-time against the Nighthawks (formerly Saints), dating back to the first meeting on September 17, 2003. Coming off of that 0-0 tie at Laker Field, Clayton State would win the next five through 2007 before UNG put together a 7-2-1 stretch that was snapped in 2015. That day, the Lakers knocked off a No. 3 ranked North Georgia team by a 2-1 score in overtime on October 14.
 
UNG posted a 5-0 decision in Dahlonega, Georgia on October 26, 2016 in the most recent meeting but they will not have that home field advantage this time around. That will belong to the Lakers who possess an impressive 6-1-1 home record in the series.
 
Directly prior to the game, Clayton State will recognize seven women's soccer seniors for their achievements throughout their careers.
