Key Peach Belt Conference Battle on Tap as Clayton State Heads to Rival No. 13 Columbus State

MORROW, Ga. – In what is a huge game as both a battle in the standings and a tilt with a long standing rival,  Clayton State (6-2-1, 3-1-1 PBC) heads 128 miles down the road to take on No. 13 Columbus State (7-2, 3-1 PBC) on Wednesday, October 5. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at the Walden Soccer Complex in Columbus, Georgia.

All-time, the Lakers are 3-12 against Columbus dating back to the first meeting on October 16, 2004. Since that 2-1 win, the teams have played at least once in each of the ensuing 12 seasons, with postseason games in 2005, 2008 and 2013. The first of those in 2005 was a 2-1 overtime Clayton State victory to win the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship and clinch a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in program history.

There will be live video coverage for the game with both live stats and live video. Full multimedia coverage is available on www.ClaytonStateSports.com.
