MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State men's and women's soccer will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a double header against North Georgia dedicated to that cause on Wednesday, October 14.
The men's game will kick off at 5 p.m. at Laker Field with the women's to follow against No. 3 North Georgia.
During pregame warm ups both the men's and women's teams will be wearing special cancer awareness shirts and the School of Nursing will be on hand distributing vital information on how individuals can make sure of early detection and fight this disease.
Dedicated to everyone affected, whether a cancer survivor, family member, friend or medical professional, the games are just two of hundreds across the country that allow more than 14 million cancer survivors to connect with fellow survivors, celebrate milestones and recognize those who have supported them along the way.
They are also the first of several throughout the athletics season. Men's and women's basketball will hold their game on February 6, 2016 against Georgia Southwestern while women's tennis will host theirs on April 17, 2016 vs. USC Aiken.
The Athletic Department would like to invite you to one or all of the games to honor cancer survivors and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be fruitful, rewarding, and even inspiring.
We encourage everyone to attend this evening's soccer double header to show your support for our community's cancer survivors, their families, friends and healthcare providers. There is peace of mind knowing that, together, we can face the challenges ahead.
