AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Monday afternoon its selections for the Men's Soccer Players of the Week.  The Clayton State University men's soccer team swept this week's honors.
 
Joao Amaral earned this week's Player of the Week while Sonny Simpson and Kalle Kuisma earned the Defensive and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.  This is the first time this season that the Lakers have swept Player of the Week honors. 
 
Amaral had a solid week for the Lakers.  He scored in both matches this week against USCA and Young Harris while adding an assist.  Joao has a three-match scoring streak and a four-match points streak.  Simpson, who is a native of Perth, Scotland, played for all 180 minutes this week and notched one shot.  His defensive unit have conceded two or fewer goals in eight of nine matches this season including two shutouts.  Kuisma, who is a sophomore from Finland, pitched a 4-0 shut out victory over USCA on Wednesday.  In that match, Kalle made six saves on 11 shots faced.  Kuisma has saved five or more shots in four of six matches played.

The Lakers (4-2-3 (2-1-1 PBC)) play at Georgia Southwestern (2-5-2 (0-3-2 PBC)) on Wednesday, September 30^th at 7 p.m.
