MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team hosted the Pacers of USCA on Wednesday. The Lakers used an offensive onslaught to win, 4-0.
The Lakers started the first half firing on all cylinders as
Adrian Lopez, Luis Ramirez, and
Joao Amaral all fired in shots. The Lakers then cracked the scoring column. In the 11
th minute, off a cross from Ramirez, Amaral knocked in his second goal of the year and the Lakers led, 1-0. Clayton State continued to pressure the Pacer defensive unit in the half as they notched 10 shots. The Lakers then added a goal in the later stages of the half. In the 45
th minute,
Arttu Leivonen received a ball from
Ethan Elmore, and the Lakers went up 2-0 going into the halftime break.

The Pacers made Laker keeper
Kalle Kuisma work in the second half as he made four saves. The Pacers never could cut into the Laker lead though as the defensive backline snuffed out each USCA attack. The Lakers would add to their lead as
Camilo Velez scored in the 63
rd minute off assists from
Gio Echanique and Bennett VanGilder and
Lucas Schofield scored his first goal in a Laker uniform in the 69
th minute. That goal, who was assisted by
Adrian Gallegos, put Clayton State up, 4-0.
Kuisma made six saves and pitched his second shutout of the season as the Lakers went onto win, 4-0.
