Coach Little Announces The Clayton State Men's Basketball Signing Class

The class features 11 transfers and one freshman

MORROW, Ga. – Head Clayton State University men's basketball coach Carl Little announces on Tuesday afternoon his 2026-27 signing class.  This class consists of 12 transfers and one freshman from three countries and four states. 
 
"We're excited about the group we've brought together and, more importantly, about who they are as people," said Coach Little. "Each of these young men brings something different to our program: talent, toughness, competitiveness and a desire to get better. As we build a new era of Clayton State Basketball, we wanted student-athletes who would embrace our standards, represent this university the right way and understand that everything we accomplish will be done together."
 
GUARDS
Coach Little adds eight guards to the team for the 2026-27 season.  Highlighting the group of guards are Chase Hill and Elijah Lewis.  Hill, who transferred from Clark Atlanta, played in 28 games and averaged 9.8 points a game.  In addition, he notched four games of 20+ points.  During his time at Albany Tech, Hill recorded 1,155 points in 62 games.  He was a two-time first-team All-Region and earned GCAA Freshman of the Year.  Lewis, who arrives to Morrow from Lane College, played in 23 games and averaged 16 points a game.  Lewis also, most notably, scored a career-high 49 points on January 3rd against Spring Hill.  Overall, Lewis notched 18 games of double-digit scoring including three games of 30+ points scored.  Lewis also played in 29 games at Coastal Alabama CC as a freshman. 
 
Camarion Johnson and Logan Sparks follow Hill land Lewis. Johnson comes to Morrow from Clark Atlanta who played in all 28 games and tossed in 104 points and grabbed 68 rebounds.  Prior to Clark Atlanta, Camarion played 34 games at Trinity Valley CC where he led his team to the 2025 National Championship.  In high school, Johnson was a 1,000-point scorer at Brunswick HS and finished as the second all-time leading scorer in Glynn County history.  Sparks, who transferred from Atlantic Cape CC, suited up in 27 games and averaged 7.2 points a game and shot 40% from the field.  In addition, Sparks notched five games of double-digit scoring. 
 
Willie Townsend and Nick Durham follow close behind Johnson and Sparks.  Townsend, who is a native of Phenix City, Ala. transferred from Chattahoochee Valley CC.  In 20 games, Willie tossed in 398 points, dished out 69 assists, and grabbed 66 rebounds.  In addition, Townsend notched 11 games of double-digit scoring.  Durham, who is a Decatur native, arrives in Morrow from Albany Tech, where, in 29 games, knocked in 329 points, which averaged 11.3 a game and grabbed 99 rebounds.  At Alcovy HS, Durham finished with 1,500 career points and was a two-time COV News Player of the Year and was a first team All-Region. 
 
Rounding out the guard class is Champ Hayden and Mark Smith Jr. Hayden transferred to Clayton State from Lake Michigan College where he played in 26 games and scored 268 points and made 42 three-pointers.  Additionally, Champ grabbed 83 boards and dished out 56 assists.  Prior to Lake Michigan, he suited up for 26 games for Central State where he recorded a pair of double-digit point totals.  Smith Jr., who is the lone true freshman in this class, comes to Clayton State from McIntosh HS in Peachtree City.  During his high school career, Mark was a two-time All-County selection and was an All-Region honoree as a senior.  This group of newcomers are joined by returners Justin Evans and Davis Jones.  Evans played in all 28 games last season while Jones appeared in 12 games. 
 
FORWARDS & CENTERS
Coach Little adds five forwards and centers to the team for the 2026-27 season.  Highlighting this group is Erez Poran and Petar Asceric.   Poran transferred from Northern Arizona University and played in 12 games last season for the Lumberjacks.  Erez is a native of Kfar Vradim, Israel and played basketball for Maccabi Haifa, who is a top team in Northern Israel and played his last few seasons for Hapoel Emeka Hefer, where he averaged 12.5 points a game.  Asceric, who is a transfer from Florida Memorial University, played in 21 games and scored 136 points and grabbed 49 rebounds.  Petar played his freshman year at Ft. Hays State and played high school ball at Concord Academy.  He led Concord Academy to a State Championship in his senior year. 
 
Josh Bryant, Tim James Jr. and Channing Beadles round out the newcomer class from the forward and center position.  Bryant, who is a Chicago native, transferred from Georgia Highlands College where he played in 28 games and scored 277 points and shot 48% from the field.  He grabbed 170 rebounds and blocked 20 shots.  In his freshman year at Lake Land College, Bryant scored 326 points in 29 games and brought down 189 rebounds.  James Jr., who is a native of Atlanta, played at Fort Valley State University last season and suited up for 28 games at Chattahoochee Valley CC as a freshman.  While at Chatt Valley, Tim tossed in 261 points and grabbed 95 rebounds.  In addition, he posted a pair of games of 20+ points and made 96 field goals.  Channing Beadles played his freshman season at Barber-Scotia and was a four-year letterwinner at East Coweta HS. This group of newcomers is joined by Mamour Mbow who appeared in 25 games and grabbed 47 rebounds.
