MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State Department of Athletics announced on Monday the latest Class of the Clayton State Athletics Hall of Fame. The class features seven former Laker student athletes, coaches, and administrators.
Former Laker basketball players Craig Butts and Catreia Shaw, soccer players Shaun Baddock and Jessica Charman, and track & field and cross country standout Ayrton Azcue are the former student athletes inducted into this class. Former women's soccer coach T.O. Totty and former Administrator and track & field and cross country coach Mike Mead round out this year's class.

Craig Butts | Men's Basketball | 2002-05
One of the best big men in Laker program history, Craig Butts gets nod for the Hall of Fame in 2026. Butts finished as one of only nine Lakers to score 1,000 career points in program history. In addition, Craig is currently the offensive rebounds leader in program history with 233 and is second in total rebounds with 592 and defensive rebounds with 359. Butts also is third in made field goals with 456 and sixth in attempted field goals with 878. Butts earned Peach Belt Conference All-Conference and D2 All-Southeast Region following the 2004-05 season where he averaged 17 points a game and 8.3 rebounds a game.
Catreia Shaw | Women's Basketball | 2001-03
Catreia Shaw was one of the best players to ever dawn a Laker uniform. In her illustrious career, Shaw leads the team in multiple career categories including field goal percentage, shooting 60.4% from the field and rebounds a game with 10.4. She holds the single season record with 293 rebounds in the 2002-03 season and 136 offensive rebounds in the 2001-02 season. She was also one of four Lakers to average a double-double in a single season as she averaged 17 points a game and 10.8 rebounds in the 2002-03 season. In addition to her career and single season marks, Shaw is ranked third all-time with 15.9 points a game, and with 267 offensive rebounds. At her point in her career, Shaw was the first multiple-time All-Conference mention and first WBCA All-America selection.
Shaun Baddock | Men's Soccer | 2000-04
Shaun Baddock was one of the most resilient players that ever suited up in a Laker uniform. During his career, despite six knee surgeries, Baddock played in 70 matches and made 68 starts. In 2000, Shaun played in all 22 matches and helped the team to the best season in school history, posting a 18-3-1 record and earning the program's first Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship in their fourth season in the conference. Baddock was also a three-time captain on the team. In his senior year, the 2005 season, Shaun led the team to a Regular Season and a Tournament Championship and the Sweet 16. In his career, Baddock knocked in 22 goals and notched 18 assists. Shaun was also a four-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll, and three-time Team Academic Award selection. Following his senior year, the Department selected Shaun as the Laker Award winner.
Jessica Charman | Women's Soccer | 2014-17
Jessica Chaman was one of the most decorated student athletes in the program's history. In her Laker career, Jessica played 34 matches in net and saved 154 shots, while facing 353 shots. But it was the work she did off the pitch that really stood her out from the rest. Following the 2017 season, Charman was awarded the Peach Belt Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, which she still is the only Laker to earn this distinction. She was also a three-time Peach Belt All-Academic Team member and was a first team Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Athlete. Upon graduating from Clayton State, Jessica dipped her toes into professional broadcasting as she was the first radio Color Commentator for Charlotte FC and has broadcasted USL Super League, USL Championship, the SheBelieves Cup, NWSL, and was a commentator in the 2025 Club World Cup on DAZN. Currently, Charman is one of the play-by-play broadcasters of the MLS on Apple TV and hosts the PLAYED IN show on Sirus XM which is a show dedicated to women's soccer.
Ayrton Azcue | Track & Field & Cross Country | 2009-13
Aryton Azcue had a storied history for the Lakers in both cross country and track & field. During his career, Ayrton holds many school records and top 10 marks in track. Following the 2011 season, Azcue finished 27
th in the PBC XC Championships, leading the team to a 3
rd place finish and raced in the Southeast Regional Meet as well. In his track career, Ayrton owns the school record in the outdoor 800m (1:50.46), the indoor 800m (1:50.36) and in the indoor DMR (10:15.47). He is also second in the indoor mile (4:13.85), fourth in the 3K (8:51.07) and in the outdoor 1500m (3:55.90). Azcue was a two-time All-Conference selection following the 2013 championships in the outdoor 800m & 1500m runs, was an eight-time Indoor USTFCCCA All-Region, and a five-time Outdoor USTFCCCA All-Region selection. In addition, Ayrton was a two-time All-American in the 800m run. In 2013, he finished as the runner-up in the Indoor Championships and finished on the podium in 8
th in the Outdoor Championships.
T.O. Totty | Women's Soccer | 1998-2010
Coach Totty went down as one of the best coaches in school history as he amassed an overall record of 104-114-15. His 104 wins are seventh all-time in Peach Belt Conference history. Under his direction, the Lakers earned a couple of berths to the NCAA Tournament and won the 2005 Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships. He also brought the Lakers to three straight PBC Championship games from 2002-05. Coach Totty coached some of the best women's soccer players in program history in Judith Chime, Olaiton Yousef, and Nkiru Okosieme. All three players are in the Clayton State Hall of Fame. Coach Totty played his collegiate soccer at Southern New Hampshire under the direction of former Laker men's soccer coach John Rootes. He was a four-time All-New England and All-NECC selection and he was a NSCAA All-American. Outside of collegiate soccer, T.O. played professionally in Nigeria and alongside former USC Aiken head coach Ike Ofoje. Totty enters the Hall of Fame posthumously as he passed away in 2023.
Mike Mead | Cross County, Track & Field, Administrator | 1990-2023
Coach Mike Mead provided over 30 years of service for Clayton State in many different roles including being the first Sports Information Director, Interim Athletic Director and the founder of the Laker cross country and track & field teams. His reach on campus was amplified from his accomplishments and his involvement with campus. Mike was a six-time PBC Coach of the Year and was a two-time Conference champion in cross country. His team won the 2005 men's cross country championship and the 2021 women's championship. Coach Mead mentored eight teams that earned runners-up finishes as well. In all, he coached 17 All-Americans and numerous all-conference selections. During his tenure, the Lakers took part in 10 NCAA Championships for cross countries and 27 Championships for track & field. Coach Mead also served on multiple USTFCCCA and Division II Track & Field committees and was also honored with the Jimmy Carnes Distinguished Service Honor in 2021.
