SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team embarked on their final road trip of the season as they played Flagler College down in Florida on Wednesday evening. The Lakers suffered a 78-52 loss.
The Lakers and Saints played a close first six minutes of the game, but Flagler pulled out to a 13-10 lead.
Jojo Bell scored six of the 10 points for the Lakers. The Saints then jumped out on a 14-3 run and extended their lead to 27-13. Bell made a layup to halt the run.
DJ Wright then scored the next handful of points for Clayton State but still trailed 31-20.
Joey Thomas then knocked in five of the final eight points in the half, but Flagler took a 45-30 lead into the halftime break. Bell and Thomas led the team with 11 points.

Eddie Page and Bell combined for the first six points of the half for the Lakers and fell behind 54-36. Flagler was stout defensively as they held the Lakers to only two field goals in the first 10 minutes of the half. A Thomas jumper and a Bell three halted that drought. The score read 63-43.
Thomas and Bell all scored points down the stretch for the Lakers but Flagler got the upper hand winning, 78-52.
