Men's Basketball Drops Home Matchup to Augusta

MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team hosted Augusta University for a mid-week PBC matchup inside the Loch. The Lakers fall, 82-60.  
 
The Lakers saw early threes from Andre Young and DJ Wright to start the game and led, 6-2.  The two teams then back-and-fourth and found themselves tied at 10.  Then, a pair of threes by Wright made the score, 18-13.  With the Lakers up, 22-19, Augusta went on a 15-2 run to essentially end the half and made the score 37-24. 
 
Justin Evans buried a step-back jumper to end the half but the Lakers trailed, 37-26 at the halftime break.  Wright led the Lakers with 11 points and three rebounds.  Joey Thomas stole three passes.

The second half was controlled mostly by Augusta.  Early in the half, Wright continued his strong day as he buried a three and a jumper to make the score, 49-35.  Young then scored the next nine points for the Lakers and made the score, 57-44.  Thomas, Evans, Wright, and Bell all had baskets down the stretch, but Augusta answered after every basket. 
 
The Lakers dropped this game 82-60.
