Morrow, GA – The Clayton State Women's basketball team hosted the Sand Sharks of USC Beaufort on Saturday afternoon and came away with a 51-46 victory.
From the tip-off, the Lakers set the tone defensively, forcing early turnovers and battling on the boards, while the Sand Sharks responded with timely baskets to keep the game close in the opening minutes. Armani Shaw knocked down key jumpers and finished strong in the paint, while Kyla Greene added multiple baskets, including a three pointer that kept the offense rolling. Nya Young contributed points in transition, and Tianna Dismuke scored inside with strong layups. Dismuke, Etaria Gibbons, and Paige McDonald controlled the boards with several rebounds, and McDonald also added a block to help protect the paint. By halftime, the Lakers had built a solid lead through balanced scoring and strong defense.
