Morrow, Ga. – The Lakers welcomed Lander to the Loch on Wednesday night and delivered a hard fought performance in a back and forth matchup that ultimately went to overtime.
The Lakers set the tone early behind aggressive scoring from Jasmyn Burts in the opening quarter, while Kyla Greene helped keep the offense flowing with timely baskets and strong play in transition. Defensively, the Lakers stayed active on the glass, with Etaria Gibbons and Tianna Dismuke making their presence felt early.
In the second quarter, the Lakers continued to answer every run, with Dazjanae Greene and Aniya Jones adding key points to keep the game close heading into halftime.

Coming back after halftime, the Lakers maintained their intensity. Burts and Kyla Greene led the charge offensively, while Paige McDonald provided valuable energy on the boards and extended possessions with strong rebounding efforts.
Late in the fourth quarter, Aniya Jones and Tianna Dismuke came up with timely plays as the Lakers executed down the stretch to force overtime.
In overtime, the Lakers continued to battle on both ends, with contributions across the board through scoring, steals, and smart ball movement. Nya Young came up with a clutch defensive play before knocking down a key jumper that tied the game late, keeping the Lakers within reach. Despite the effort, Lander sealed the game with a buzzer beater as the clock ran out.
