Morrow, GA--- The Clayton State University men's basketball hosted Georgia College and State University inside The Loch on Friday evening. The Lakers fell to the Bobcats 100-81.
The Lakers were able to see the first basket of the game go in from a layup by
Eddie Page. The Bobcats responded with a three pointer and controlled the game from that point on. The Bobcats were able to get up to a 10 point lead but that did not stop the Lakers from competing. Joe Thomas was able to get a 3 pointer to go in and responded to a forced turnover by
Andre Young with a layup to cut the lead to just 4. As the half went on, the shots were falling for the Bobcats which led to 15 point lead for the Bobcats going into the half.
Halftime: Georgia College 54, Clayton State 39
Coming out in the second half, it was the Lakers that got the scoring going with a layup by Young. The Lakers played with aggression on the offensive side of the ball that got them to the free throw line which helped to get the Bobcats lead to 11. The Bobcats continued to score from all areas of the floor which saw them with a 20 point lead. The competitiveness never stopped for the Lakers but ultimately it was the Bobcats that maintained control of the lead which resulted in a loss for the Lakers.
Final Score: Georgia College 100, Clayton State 81
